Keep it simple? Not so simple.
The assignment from Eversheds Sutherland was not unlike many that come our way: bring a bold and fresh injection of creativity to their established and respected brand. Simple enough on the surface, and always rewarding to execute. But as every agency knows, delivering on such a broad mandate isn’t without its challenges.
What law firms and design firms know: creativity thrives within structure
Lawyers have it built into the system. Designers need to create it fresh each time. But without well-defined boundaries of look and feel, no clear and persuasive image can emerge. We were glad to partner with another strategic agency who would organize the content Eversheds Sutherland already had and make design recommendations based on their findings.
From a narrowed field, a clear winner emerges
Once we had our messaging locked down we could let our imaginations flow. Key words like “striking” and “witty” steered us toward the technique of combining flat icons and photography. The concept allowed us to embed messaging in each image that spoke to the character of Eversheds Sutherland. And making good on our assigned task, the bold new images leapt off the page.
